Fiano
Greeks brought the native grape of the Fiano, the "Vitis Apicius": the first vines were planted in Lapio, a place that took its name from the grape, the town where still produces the Fiano. The name "Vitis Apicius" or "Apina" derived from the characteristic of this grape with a sweet fragrance, attracting swarms of bees in the vineyards. From "Apina" derived "Apiana" and then "Afiana" and Fiano. Fiano di Avellino is a DOCG wine whose production is allowed in the province of Avellino. The wine has a straw yellow color; a pleasant smell, intense, characteristic and fresh and harmonious taste.
