Prosecco Superiore
Prosecco Superiore is the denomination used for the sparkling version Prosecco di Conegliano - Valdobbiadene DOCG produced only in Treviso and that should not be confused with the DOC Prosecco , even if they are produced with the same vine, glera . The history of Prosecco Superiore, in fact , begins in Conegliano Valdobbiadene where for more than three centuries are cultivated grapes that give rise to Prosecco Superiore , whose success began with the founding of the first Wine School in Italy , in 1876. The production area, which covers 15 municipalities , is an Italian historical denomination approved in 1969 .
Prosecco Superiore comes in three varieties: The Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG ( which can be tasted in the versions Brut , Extra Dry and Dry , distinguished by the residual sugar ) , the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Superiore DOCG Prosecco Rive and Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze DOCG .
