China and Wine, import record in 2016

In China in 2016 is record of wine import with more than 6 million hectolitres imported and a demand always greater of bottled wines. The 2016 scores a new record for China who registers a +15% more than the 2015 on the imports worth. Italy occupies the 5th place as supplier both for sales volume and sales worth, while is growing the Chinese demand for Italian wines. China scores a really significant record making more and more specific requests. Bottled wines are increasingly requested by the Chinese: 76% of imports in volume and 93% in worth. In particular, bottled wines are worth 2,2 billion dollars (+17,2%) for 481 million litres. All data are provided by Nomisma’s Wine Monitor in its last wine export report.
