Boom for pasta production: doubled in 2016

Since 1998 when was held for the first the World Pasta Day, its production grew of almost the 57%: from 9,1 to 14,3 million tons. 48 (+77%) are the Countries who produces it in accettable quantities (more than 1000 tons) and 52 are those who consume at least 1 kg pro capite per year. Italy is the first one with 25kg/person/year followed by Tunisia with 16kg. In 2015 Italy was confirmed as production leader with 3,2 million tons of which the 56% (1,8 million) is exported. Germany is still Italy biggest market followed by United Kingdom and France.
