100ITA is a brand that can be found only on the labels of 'Made in Italy' products, allowing to immediately identify the Italian origin of the product. Nowadays, 2 of 3 products sold outside Italy are not from Italy even if they have names, images and brands that evocate it. In the United States only 1 product out of 8 has Italian origin. This problem, called 'Italian Sounding', damages, first of all, the consumer who doesn't pay a fair price for the good he's buying and receives a product that is realized with production processes, processing techniques and raw materials that are different from the Italian ones: if you google first 'Mozzarella Wisconsin' and then 'Mozzarella' images, the differences are clear. The brand 100ITA is integrated in the packages in order to make counterfeiting difficult and it includes the additional application of '100%' only if all the ingredients of the product have Italian origin.

Historically, since the early 80 ', the words 'Made in Italy' started to be used by the Italian producers to counter different phenomena of counterfeiting of their products, especially in fashion, food, furniture and mechanical sectors (known in Italian language as 'the 4 A': Abbigliamento-Clothing, Agoalimentare-Food&Beverage, Arredamento-Furniture and Automobili-Automotive).
