Barolo
The name Barolo comes from the homonymous area, preciseely from the historical properties of the marquises Falletto, who at the beginning of the 19th century discovered this excellent wine.
Barolo is a dry red wine produced in the Langhe region within Piedmont, which includes the areas of Barolo, Castiglione Falletto und Serralunga d'Alba and partially the areas of La Morra, Monforte d'Alba, Roddi, Verduno, Cherasco, Diano d'Alba, Novello and Grinzane Cavour.
The Barolo wine is produced using only 100% Nebbiolo vine and it must be aged 38 months, 18 of these in oak or in chestnuts wood barrels.
The word „Nebbiolo“ comes from fog, because the riped vine had silvery grapes and because, when there are foggy days the grapes are covered by a gray patina.
