Twitter is an American online news and social networking, founded by Jack Dorsey, Noah Glass, Biz Stone, and Evan Williams, in 2006. On Twitter, people can communicate by posting short messages, called “tweets” limited to 280 characters (before 2017, they were limited to 140 characters) or “retweet” other users’ messages. Twitter size cap is surely one of its distinctive feature, with the purpose of let the users make a focused and clever use of language. Similar to Facebook “Wall” section, is Twitter’s “Home feed”, that is the very first page the user can see and that is different from the personal twitter feed or profile, containing all tweets the user created. At the moment, it accounts more than 330 million of users around the world. Generally speaking, foodbloggers are less active on Twitter, if compared to Instagram and Facebook. Having a more informative and less visual role, Twitter is more suitable to share articles about a particular food, restaurant or chef; Foodbloggers having a Twitter account usually share here their recipes link that can drive traffic back to their foodblog and site, increasing their chance to get known by a wider audience.
