Wine: Agreement between Fuji Television and Italian Wine Tourism Movement

Italian Food and Beverage Industry will be protagonist on the main private Japanese TV. At Vinitaly, the president of Italian Wine Tourism Movement (MTV), Carlo Pietrasanta, said: «We have signed a co-production agreement with Fuji Television, Japan's leading private broadcaster. In few days will be aired the first of the 16 episodes of the documentary series already scheduled for the next four years. This is a unprecedented focus on Italian Made in Italy of Food and Beverage, with both the Italian Embassy in Tokyo and Alitalia as partner for the program.» “Journey to Discover Italian Wines”, this is the name of the documentary series, focuses on Italian wine production and its “co-stars”: gastronomy, art, history and culture. The first episode starts from Sicily and in 2017 episodes will be in Lombardy, Emilia Romagna and Umbria-Marche, an audience of more than 3 million viewers is expected. Japan represents, among the non EU countries, the 5th country for Italian wine export with a value in 2016 of 165 million euro and a market share of 12.3%
