The Easter sweets in Italy are consumed on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday. Among these desserts, undoubtedly the most famous is the Easter dove. The classic one is generally covered with a glaze of almonds, but you can find variations of each taste. A very famous Easter cake is the Pastiera Napoletana, a pastry pie stuffed with a filling made up of ricotta cheese, wheat boiled in milk, candies, sugar and eggs. Another famous Christmas dessert is the Easter Egg , made of chocolate, traditionally given at Easter to friends and relatives. The Easter Pizza is among the historical dishes eaten for breakfast on the Easter Eve, and is a typical rite of central Italy. Scarcella, instead, is an and is an original Easter cake from Puglia region but nowadays known throughout the all the south of Italy. It is particularly loved by children because it can take many forms, depending on what the imagination suggests.
