The seafood salad is a dish made of mollusks with or without shell (seafood) and crustaceans, such as shrimp. The dish is served cold, usually in summer. The seafood salad is classified as a cold appetizer (well, warm) but given the composition of the ingredients, can play with excellence the dish function. It is a high-protein food, characterized by a variable concentration in carbohydrates and lipids. The seafood salad is a product easily contestualizzabile in many diets, including therapeutic. Of salad sea there are many recipes and variants, but all have in common for the use of the method of cooking with water (cold or hot) or with steam (traditional or in a pressure cooker). Like most of the mixed preparations, even the seafood salad should be structured according to the seasonal raw materials available (see the deepening fresh seafood in season). It 'true that, with the ability to freeze food (our own or foreign), is not particularly difficult to find the various fishery products in all seasons of the year. However, the difference between sensory and flavor of a salad made with fresh ingredients sea and another made from frozen food is almost always of great importance.
