On November 23rd, during the 1° Week of the Italian Cuisine in the World, at Four Seasons Hotelin Beijing, in the presence of the Italian Ambassador in China H.W. Ettore Francesco Sequi, was held the annual event of promotion of “Made in Italy” organized by 100ITA.

After the welcome speech hold by the Italian Ambassador, ended with an energetic “wine is good, is healthy, is cool”, the Executive Director of ITA Beijing Amedeo Scarpa, the 100ITA project manager Cristiano Fagioli, the Founder of wineita.com (Chinese portal specialized on Italian wine) and the starred chef Igor Macchia gave their own contribution. Every speaker highlighted the importance of carrying on the promotion of true Made in Italy in the world through this kind of events, engaging everyone, private and public, in order to instill in people, the real “amplifier” of the movement, the passion and the tradition that mark out/distinguish Italy. Because products and dishes, as Igor Macchia said, speak directly to the people.

Later, a product tasting was held as well as the Cooking Show by the starred chef Igor Macchia, who amazed all the guests with a risotto with black truffle, gold and coffee and finger food appetizers such as burrata with black truffle caviar, Parma Ham with apple chutney and white truffle cream, fresh tomato sauce with olive oil. As dessert, he proposedan Eggnog served in elegant cups containing fresh berriesand Savoyard biscuits.

The ingredients were kindly offered by many popular producers who supported the event: from the truffles of Madia Regale to the mustards and jams of Lazzaris, from the best extra virgin olive oil of Decimi to Ferrarelle mineral water, from the great wines of Piedmont by Tosti to the Lambrusco Three Glasses of Cantina di Sorbara, from the organic wines of Castello di Torre in Pietra to the great wines of Tuscan terroir by Frescobaldi.

The event fully expressed the Vision of 100ITA project as Cristiano Fagioli reminded ending his speech with “A bit of Italy out of Italy”.
